BIRTH EDUCATION SESSIONS

  • These sessions do not come with labor & birth support, but are meant to support your education, understanding, fears, excitements and everything in between as you prepare for the birthing experience during your pregnancy

  • Virtual and/or in-person sessions offered as either individualized sessions or packaged multi-visit sessions depending on need

  • Birth education sessions often include information on: the stages of labor, the physiology of birth, coping with surges & tools for physical support, playing the role of the support person and understanding what may be beneficial to help aid a progressive and joyful labor experience, preparing for pushing with or without an epidural, understanding pelvic dynamics and movement during labor, preparing for a cesarean and more

  • Reasons someone may want to engage with this option may be:

    • You would like the option for packaged meetings or single education sessions if there is something specific you want to learn about in particular but do not require the services of full-scope doula support

    • You are already comfortable with the birth support team you plan to have during your labor & birth, but would like accessible & specific information on what to expect from a trained professional fluent in local norms in various birth settings

    • You would like the opportunity to tailor your birth education around your existing schedule

    • You would like a 1:1 experience rather than a group setting

    • You don’t have the budget for a full out-of-hospital course but you are still seeking out-of-hospital information & guidance

*Prices for these sessions vary based on the amount of time together clients are seeking
